Finding love as a witness

hi i'm new.. i'm going on 2yrs as a baptized witness although i've just received a reproval on the grounds of living with a wordly man unmarried for 6 months.

long story short it ended messy and i ran straight back to the witnesses because i do love jehovah and i missed my family.

my issues were only with the actual organization.. i desperately want to find someone to share my world with but i feel like i'm too tainted to be loved by anyone worthy in the truth and my morals are to high to love another boy from the world.

You'll need a large amount of luck. No, no, no, not even that will help you.

You moved in with a 'wordly' guy and it wasn't even a good one because how you expressed it ended up. Now, the JW world has you marked as not only 'unspiritual' but also a 'Suzy floozy slut'.

Forget it. Even you find a JW in name only, it'll be a rotten one; your rep will never go away among JWs now. If you decide to switch congs, a nice little letter will follow you, detailing your wrong doings.

To make matters even worse, there are like 30 available females for every 'good' catch JW and that fact makes many an available male JW quite a jerk because they're so 'valuable'. I would absolutely hate to be of dating age among JWs these days; it's an impossible proposition for so many sisters. Sad.

Tough place you're in. Sorry.

Blood Transfusion and Eating

i get highly irritated when this subject comes up.

this idiot gave a talk in my hall recently and said that transfusion of blood and eating blood was the same thing.

my wife accepts this reasoning.

When it comes to blood issues, forget about it. The little amendments made to it is as far as the WTBTS will go; and I'm even surprised they've given in that much on the matter.

You all do your thing, and let JWs do their thing; eat it, transfuse it, bathe in it, whatever, and let JWs be with their interpretation and reasoning of the text. This keeps coming up every so often; boring.

Blood is part of the deep indoctrination I can't and don't want to get rid off; don't give it to anyone, don't want it from anyone. As old as I am, have never or any member of my extended/immediate family has ever needed health treatment that could not be satisfied without the use of blood. The issue is highly hyped and overrated by the anti-JW crowd.

Give it up already. Peace out!

My life as a fundamentalist

as a born-in jw, i never considered myself to be a fundamentalist.

i always thought we were enlightened, progressive and not 'stuck in darkness' like all the other religions.. i was totally wrong.. as far as fundamentalists go, jw's are probably right up there amongst the front-runners.

no, they do not stone people to death or go on religion-fuelled violent rampages but that's not what i'm talking about.

If you have not been to a meeting in 10 years, you no longer know the JWs. This religion has evolved immensely just in the last 5 years, more so if 10.

The only way I have put up with it successfully since learning TTATT is due to many a JW inside just going through the motions and not really deeply caring about the WTBTS.

Take for example the upcoming memorial. The group I hang with, many among us perceived to be JW heavies, all we have commented about the occasion is where we are going to eat and drink afterwards; everything is just "blah, blah, blah.....the end is near.... blah, blah, blah.... we need more money..... blah, blah, blah. It is the attitude for the most part of JWs still inside. Just in for family and the nice association, nothing more.

The GB can keep on talking until blue in the face and they will not change us. With so many failed prophesies and so many ridiculous changes, plus the threat that we will lose it all if we leave, all we can effectively do is play deaf until death do us part.🙄

2nd amendment right ... where should it end?

one thing i like to do to test a theory is to take things to extremes or to their logical conclusion to see if the premises still hold.

very often, a claim that seems to make sense at a superficial level falls apart when you start to stretch it a little.. so let's play a game.. suppose the 2nd amendment is valid, that some "well regulated militia" really is necessary to hold the government to account.. obviously when this was drafted the government had access to the weapons of it's day which would be muskets!

so muskets all round.

The memorial beauty pageant

since the memorial is coming up soon and its about time for me to go shopping for a new memorial ( aka easter) dress, i've realized what the memorial really is for us teenage girls, a beauty pageant!

the memorial is the day i spend painting my nails, curling my hair, and carefully applying makeup because my mother says i have to "represent jehovah" and look my best.

in reality its just to impress the newcomers and to compete with the other girls.

Yes, the memorial, assemblies, etc., are nothing more than fashion shows for us women. Hell, we are not good for much inside this men's Org. We have settled for looking pretty.

Talk about that, I still need to go shopping as my outfit is not complete just yet.😜

The new songs, all, are crap; all sound horrible and the music is not enticing at all.

There are a couple that the music sounds like a melodic tango or a Jamaican tune to be enjoyed at the beach with a piña colada drink.

What is the freaking point? Crap, crap, crap!

Estimating future growth or decline of Watchtower

i have seen a few posts here, in various guises, in relation to whether watchtower is in decline.

plenty of people respond, but it is all fairly anecdotal, or "gut feel".

some of it has been wishful thinking.. as of late 2015, watchtower's numbers suggest it is still growing marginally, but there are various anecdotes on this site of publishers typically being older, and younger ones disappearing.

It is growing tremendously in 3rd world lands, I mean, African continent, the Caribbean islands, etc.

There are personality types that are attracted to the structured life of an Org like the WTBTS. Now, of course, they have the campaign of baptism at a young age and also visiting/recruiting at nursing homes.

The numbers, albeit slowly, will continue to grow.

can anybody answer this for me?.

whenever i tell people i'm ex jehovahs witnesses, they always assume that i'm against the jehovahs witnesses, but i am more so against the watchtower then anything.people assume that i'm anti-jehovahs witness, but now that i've done more research i've realized that its the watchtower thats more harmful then the jehovahs witnesses, even though theres a lot of jehovahs witnesses i dont like, i'm not against jehovahs witnesses as a group.. can anyone explain this to me?.
